ABERDEEN

Aberdeen is the third largest city in Scotland. It is more of an industrial town than a place like St Andrews, but there is still plenty to like about Aberdeen for a golf group considering where to call home base during a trip. Even though there are still plenty of different lodging types and options to choose from, rates are generally lower than more touristy parts of the country. Another positive is because of the size of Aberdeen’s airport, you may be able to find a flight directly into Aberdeen that not only makes sense, but can even save you money over flying into Edinburgh which is a couple hours south. Royal Aberdeen and Trump International Scotland are the heavy hitters near town and Cruden Bay is not far away. And then there is wee little Stonehaven just south of Aberdeen, the course I consider to be the greatest hidden gem in the world.
