WEST COAST GOLF

The West Coast of Scotland is another hotbed of well-known bucket list courses with local, hidden gems just about everywhere you look. The main concentration of courses is just southwest of Glasgow, where you find Royal Troon, Prestwick and Trump Turnberry in a nice little row heading south. But those more-well known tracks with Open Championship ties are certainly not the only courses to consider. Dundonald Links is another course becoming more familiar to American golfers as they have gotten to watch the Scottish Women’s Open on TV every year. Then if you are willing to consider a longer drive, ferry ride, or regional plane, you could consider courses like The Machrie, Askernish, Shiskine, and the Machrihanish-area courses. Please click on any of the courses below for more information and a full photo gallery, but keep in mind this is not every course in the area that you could consider.
